Cognitive Function

Vitamin B6 also plays a role in cognitive development through the biosynthesis of neurotransmitters and maintenance of normal levels of homocysteine, amino acid in the blood.

Immunity

Vitamin B6 is involved in gluconeogenesis and glycogenolysis, immune function (for example, it promotes the production of lymphocytes and interleukin-2) and the formation of haemoglobin.

Men and women aged 19-50 years require at least 1.3 mg per day, pregnant and lactating women 2 mg.
